Final Fantasy IV is the fourth installment in Sqaures Final Fantasy Series. Final Fantasy IV was a major turning point the age of Final Fantasy, as well as the RPG empire. It introduced the active battle time system, where enemies and your characters attack simultaneously as if to provide a more realistic battle than its previous counter-parts. Final Fantasy IV was also the first one in its series to contain character development. Final Fantasy I-III put you through rigorous jobs to complete in order to reach a main goal. Final Fantasy IV had a story of fantasy and some realism all tied into one, and was a hit for its time. If you look past the graphics it has, which were top-notch in its time, you would see how great this game really is. This is Square's first "semi-challenging" game, as well as its first game to contain side-quests. Since Final Fantasy IV was the first Final Fantasy installment on the Super Nintendo system, the amount of information it could hold was unimaginable. This game contained more magic than ever, as well as summons. Thought the amount of space items was very limited, there was an immense amount of items in this game, and all kinds of different armor and weapons to equip. Final Fantasy IV is one of a kind, and is one of the greatest classics. Final Fantasy was released in three different versions as of the present day. The first ever realeased was the japanese version, it wooed the japanese, as they had never seen anything like it. The second version of Final Fantasy released was the Easy-type of the original. The United States recieved the easy-type because maybe the Japanese thought we were feeble. In the Easy-type, many things were changed, and you can read about those changes here. Final Fantasy IV was only the second Final Fantasy to be released in the U.S., so it was then called Final Fantasy II. Believe it or not, the sales for Final Fantasy IV were much better in the U.S. than in Japan. After a long awaited, and anticipated Final Fantasy Collection release, Final Fantasy IV was re-released in Japan, with an added FMV. This was the third version released, on the playstation. We have yet to see a reprise in the U.S., but many like me are hoping it will come soon.
